Korenov
In Korenov, take a trail that leads to a lookout tower resembling a lighthouse. It will take you to the Na Slunecni forest park, straight into a world of fantasy. Enjoy the fairytale trail, a natural playground in the shade of trees.
Vysoke nad Jizerou
Above Roprachtice, offset among fields and meadows, stands a stone tower. It was built out of love for the place and the desire to make it accessible to all those who pass by. Climb the 70 steps and enjoy a great view of the Jested, Bezdez, Kozi hrbety and Zaly hills.

Let the train take you uphill, and enjoy your descent down a steel trough. This bobsleigh track has 17 corners, is safe, and you can regulate your speed with an effective brake.

The Krkonose’s most abundant waterfall can be seen near Harrachov. It is only 10 m high but very powerful especially during spring. The River Mumlava has a wide riverbed here, full of boulders and stones, and also huge “pots”, or evorsion holes.

This fairytale-like train station lies on the Martinice v Krkonosich – Rokytnice nad Jizerou line. The building is part of National Heritage due to its preserved system of railway signals dating back to the mid-20th century.

The symbolic source of the River Labe (the Elbe) lies at an altitude of 1386 m a.s.l., and is made in the form of a stone ring bearing the coats-of-arms of the towns through which this European river flows.

The oldest viewing tower made of stone lies on Zaly hill and was built by Count Jan Harrach. The tower offers a 360-degree view of the Krkonose and the adjacent regions and has preserved its unique atmosphere.

If you want to dive deep into the Krkonose’s story, touch all the natural phenomena in one place and understand how important it is to protect them, you should not miss the Krkonose Museum in Vrchlabi.
Mountain see-saws have been built in places that you would have otherwise hardly seen. This one in Horni Kalna is one of fourteen in the Krkonose.
Take a hike down the valley of this gushing brook to the Bile Labe chalet, more than 100 years old. You can continue with a hike along Certova strouha, a remarkable torrent control work.

One of the most impressive views can be enjoyed at the Krakonosova viewing point on the Kozi hrbety ridge, over 3 km long. Medvedin hill, Labsky dul valley, and the rock formations of Snezne jamy, Divci kameny and Muzske kameny can be seen from here.

The Renaissance townhall has been guarded for more than 400 years by two statues of giants in Roman armour on its tower. You can visit the information centre underneath them, and climb the tower gallery in a guided tour.

Take a hike to places of peace. Mala Upa is a village that maintains its authentic appearance and the atmosphere of a remote mountain settlement. You can also try out its Fairytale Trail and see the highest-located church in the country.
This forested ridge lies in the easternmost parts of the Krkonose, and as it is so remote it is almost untouched by tourism and human activity. This is the place where the dark Dvorsky primeval forest and the Snezne domky meadow enclave with blooming orchids and white gentians can be found.
If you want to see the real Krkonose, take a hike across the whole range and its ridges. There is more than one way to conquer the sixty kilometres between the eastern and western end of the mountains. Choose your route and chalets to stay at overnight. Enjoy the untouched countryside, the most well-known places as well as the calming mountain skies at night.
