Černý Důl
The small mountain town of Cerny Dul lies in the picturesque part of the Eastern Krkonose. Originally a mining settlement, it is situated at the foot of Cerna hora mountain in the valley of the Cista brook. Its most unique feature is the longest cargo cable car in Central Europe. For its quiet family environment, Cerny Dul has become a popular resort for summer and winter tourism.
The municipality includes also the villages of Cista v Krkonosich and Fort.
Mining history and sports
The founding of Cerny Dul is linked to the beginnings of ore mining in the Krkonose. The history of mining here can be uncovered in the Museum of the Krkonose’s Underground and the ‘Berghaus’ educational trail.
The sports facilities in Cerny Dul are part of the Cerna hora – Pec ski resort, offering visitors many sports opportunities in any season of the year.
