Descent from Výrovka to Strážné

Pec pod Sněžkou - Strážné

An unconventional long descent, where you must first climb to an altitude of 1356 m on your own, and then you can enjoy a well-deserved pleasant descent through the top parts of the Krkonoše Mountains.

You can get to Pec pod Sněžkou by the Krkonoše Cycle Bus. From Pec pod Sněžkou, take the K1A cycle route along the path with the aptly named Devil's Steps. The well-deserved views from Výrovka chalet or from Viewpoint above Výrovka and the possibility of a tasty snack will certainly be a pleasant reward.

From Výrovka chalet, you can cycle to Luční chalet along the K1H cycle route past the Memorial to the Mountain Victims. From Luční chalet you can only cycle down the same path back to Výrovka. From Výrovka chalet, continue on the K1A cycle route to Chalupa na Rozcestí (chalet). Then you will descend on the paved road through Zadní Renerovky (chalet), Přední Renerovky (chalet) to Hříběcí Boudy (chalet). As you pass Hříběce Budy you will pass the already closed Marble Quarry and after just a short descent you will join the 3rd class road at the quarry car park, where you can turn left to Dolní Dvůr or right to Strážný and then to Vrchlabí.

  • Length: 21 km
  • Surface: the road runs on asphalt and paved surfaces
  • Attractions: Pec pod Sněžkou, Výrovka chalet, Monument to Victims of the Mountains, Luční chalet, Strážné
