Local station Martinice

Unique Station

The railway line starts in Martinice v Krkonosich. The local station was built in 1871 and is unique in many respects. It is the highest located station on the line and also a protected national heritage site. It uses mechanical signals, now very rare, to control the rail operation. The whole station is a unique complex with a preserved and fully operational control and safety system dating back to the mid-20th century. It was declared a national monument in 2016.
