Brecstejn Castle Ruins

Vlčice

The ruins of Brecstejn castle can be seen at Hradecek near Vlcice. The first records of the castle date back to 1336 when it was mentioned as Stein. It was built on a steep rock block, which limited its size. It was inaccessible from the north-western side where the rock wall is almost sheer, and was protected by a double moat and bulwark on the east and southeast. Only high outer walls have remained today. The castle is accessed via the former cellars.
