Labska Dam
Labska Dam is the only structure of this type in the Krkonose Mountains and also the first on the river Labe (the Elbe). Anyone driving to Spindleruv Mlyn will see this beautiful work, which is also a popular destination for a short and easy walk from the centre of Spindleruv Mlyn, suitable for walking with a pram or with small children.
The dam was built from 1910 to 1916 and approved in 1918. In 1994 a hydropower plant was put into operation as the first on the Labe. The dam is operated by Povodi Labe enterprise from Hradec Kralove.
Swimming is possible, but no facilities are available. Only the tough will enjoy swimming in the icy mountain water.
