From Horni Mala Upa to Mount Snezka

In Winter on Foot

In winter, too, it is worthwhile visiting the highest Czech mountain. Pomezni boudy could be one of the places to start your trip. This group of mountain chalets in Horni Mala Upa, near the border crossing to Poland, was founded in 1634.

The red-marked path, the so-called Czech-Polish Friendship Path, will take you to Mount Snezka from there. At the summit, you can visit Anezka, the highest situated post office in the country.

You can take the same path back, or use the Snezka – Ruzova mountain – Pec pod Snezkou cable car line. Just check the weather; if the wind is strong, the cable car line may be out of operation.
