A journey with flavor
The Krkonoše trails are about the views, but also the stops along the way. The ones scented with malt, hops, and mountain water. Set out to conquer the only high mountain beer trail in Europe, this year newly extended with three craft breweries in the western Krkonose Mountains.
The trail is open from May 30 to September 30, 2026.
The Beer Trail will guide you along wild ridges and through calmer valleys. It combines mountain hiking with the honest work of local brewers. Each stop has its own story. And its own flavor.
How you put together your experience is up to you. We've prepared the basics: the route, the stops, and the beers that belong here. You add your determined steps, the fresh mountain air, and a reward in the form of a frothy pint at the finish.
It tastes best when you set aside more time for it. The ideal plan? A long weekend and a group of friends.
I'll choose a route
The Krkonose Mountains are a place where tradition has deep roots. Every beer has its own story and character. But they all have one thing in common—they belong here.
Along the beer trail, you'll come across eight different breweries: Trautenberk, Pecky pivovar, Fries, Hendrych, Krkonosský medved, Novosad, U Capa, and Prdek. They brew their beer honestly, using local ingredients and right “at home.” You'll taste bitter as well as light beers, often unfiltered and unpasteurized. Each one is different, but all with a flavor that will tempt you to return again and again.
I want to discover mountain breweries
The main reward is the experience itself. But you'll take something with you as well. The beer trail is meant for a clear mind, tired legs, and moments worth sharing. But also for the stamps. Take a flyer or a guide with you and collect them along the way—this way, each stop will be imprinted more deeply in your memory. Thanks to small prizes for collected stamps, the trail will bring back memories even when you're at home.
This journey isn't about speed, but about honest steps and the joy of every shared sip.
The beer trail can be walked from May 30 to September 30, 2026.
The entire route measures 80 kilometers – plan for at least four days and three overnight stays at mountain lodges. You can easily divide the route into two branches (eastern and western) and take advantage of the facilities in Vrchlabi, which lies in the center of the mountains and is easily accessible.
Or, save yourself a reason to return. Walk part of the trail and collect additional stamps during your next visits to the Krkonose.
Beer Trail Route
In each brewery, collect a stamp in your leaflet—one small beer is enough to get it. With stamps from five or eight breweries, you’ll receive a well-deserved reward at the finish.
Everyone who collects eight stamps from eight breweries will also be entered into a prize drawing for stays at individual breweries.
The ideal option is, of course, to use the facilities of one of the breweries. If you are walking the entire route, you will need at least one more overnight stay on the ridge. That’s why we have selected mountain huts that will welcome you.

At first glance, it may seem like a logistical puzzle – but you’ll manage to solve it. Tourist bus lines, running from the end of May to the end of September, will help you with this. They also connect mountain locations not served by regular lines. You can also rely on train connections on the local line from Martinice v Krkonosich to Jablonec nad Jizerou, with a connection to Vrchlabi.
