This route is not for complete beginners. On the other hand, it offers views you won’t forget anytime soon. You’ll start in Harrachov and gradually conquer three Krkonose hills before a long descent into Jilemnice. Expect terrain full of contrasts, beautiful nature, well-known mountain spots, and peaceful hideaways.

Good to know before you set out

After leaving Harrachov, you’ll face a climb on Janouškova cesta, known as Terex. The reward is a comfortable contour path with scenic views and a pleasant descent to Krakonos’ Breakfast. From there, you’ll continue along Kladova cesta past Plesivec Mountain and on through well-known places like Rucicky, Dvoracky, and Sedlo pod Dvorackami.

From the Vidlice crossroads, you’ll join a contour path towards Rezek. Here, the views over the landscape open up in all their breadth—from the foothills to the western Krkonose. Through Roudnice and Krizlice, only a well-deserved descent into Jilemnice remains.
