Rokytnice nad Jizerou

Whether its spring, summer, autumn or winter, it is always good to be in Rokytnice! The picturesque mountain town of Rokytnice nad Jizerou lies in the western part of the Krkonose. The town is dominated by the panorama of the Lysa hora and Kotel mountains. Several dozen ski lifts and modern four-seat chair lifts take passengers to the ridges of the hills that surround the town. The local downhill tracks are amongst the best and longest in the Czech Republic. Enough groomed tracks are available for cross-country enthusiasts.

In summer, Rokytnice offers countless marked hiking trails that will take you all over the western Krkonose as well as other parts of our beautiful mountain range.

To the Ridges and on Educational Trails

Take a walk in the town, enjoy the views of Kotel and the quiet atmosphere, try the Around Rokytnice marked trail. We recommend that you conclude your trip by climbing the Art-Nouveau town hall tower. What were the times of smugglers like? What is wood sculpting? Answers to these questions will also be found on the local educational trails – the Smugglers’ Trail and Wood Sculpting trail.

Along with walking around the town, take the opportunity to make it to the Krkonose’s ridges themselves. You can do so via the Horni Domky chair lift, which runs in summer, and also the regular bus line from Rokytnice nad Jizerou to Zlate navrsi hill and Vrbatova chalet.

Cyclists can also transport their bikes on the chair lift, enjoy the unique Rock-It-Nice bike park and take the regular lines of the Krkonose cyclo buses.
